A RICH PEDIGREE
Like all the KAYA series, the KAYA 90 shares its DNA with our GIYA loudspeakers. That family connection is immediately evident visually in the KAYA 90’s smoothly curved contours. But it’s your ears that will truly confirm their common ancestry. The KAYA 90 is so called because it has an internal volume of 90 litres. That, combined with its four patented reaction-cancelling drivers and Tapered Tube loading – the same technology we pioneered with GIYA – gives the KAYA 90 its astonishing clarity and articulation in the bass.

DESIGN
The curved bass absorber horn is the defining external feature of our GIYA loudspeakers. As with everything we do, it’s there for unarguable engineering reasons: it absorbs resonances and coloration, so you can hear every note with perfect precision and clarity. But we’d be the first to admit such a radical look isn’t for everyone. With the KAYA 90, the horn is still there; for the same reasons, and giving you the same benefits. The difference is that it’s folded back on itself, so it curves round inside the enclosure. So KAYA 90 gives you the same resonance-free sound in the lower mid-range, from a slimmer, more understated profile you may find easier to live with.

A DEEP UNDERSTANDING
With many conventional three-way loudspeakers, it’s possible to tune into the bass, mid-range and tweeter as separate parts of the sound field. That’s something we’ve worked strenuously to avoid with KAYA 90. Using all-aluminium drive units, and crossovers developed and built entirely in-house, we’ve made the transition between drivers totally seamless. We’ve also set the tweeter in a shallow waveguide, so that the sound is projected forwards rather than dispersing sideways. The result is perfect continuity in the sound, and a more focused listening experience unaffected by your room acoustics.

NEW LOOK. SAME SOUND.
One of the defining characters of our loudspeakers is the incredible clarity and articulation in the bass. Gone is the muddiness, the blurring of the notes: all is perfectly separate and distinct. And that matters. After all, as Debussy (may have) said: music is the spaces between the notes. That clarity is the result of our patented absorber horn, which eliminates resonances and coloration. In the GIYA series, it curves over the top of the enclosure, creating that unmistakeable outline. It’s still present, for the same reasons, in the KAYA 45, but folded back on itself, so it fits neatly inside. So you can enjoy the same extraordinary sound, from a loudspeaker that’s also easy on the eye.

AN ATTRACTIVE DEVELOPMENT
The KAYA 45 is a direct descendant of our GIYA loudspeakers, and shares much of the same technology. This includes our Super Flux Magnets in the driver units. These radial magnets, still very unusual in commercial loudspeakers, naturally have a large hole in the centre, which allows the sound to flow naturally from the diaphragm into the absorber, free from resonances and reflections. On GIYA models, we use these magnets in the bass drivers: for KAYA, we’ve fitted them to the mind-range driver, too. Here, they reduce distortion and improve performance in the higher frequencies. And prove that you really can make a good thing even better.

FORM FOLLOWS FUNCTION
KAYA 45 can easily fill the largest room with sound. Compared to the four-way GIYA, it produces a slightly more directional sound field; this is largely a function of being a three-way loudspeaker, with the tweeter sound projected forwards rather than sideways. As a consequence, the sound is more focused, lending itself to more concentrated listening it’s also absolutely brilliant for home theatre, where the precise positioning of the sound source is a central element of the overall experience.

A NEW LISTENING EXPERIENCE
Crucially, and despite its diminutive 12 litre internal volume, the KAYA S12 uses the patented exponentially tapered tube loaded reflex, first developed for its much larger sibling, the GIYA G1, but wrapped around the inside of the enclosure in such a way as to absorb resonance in all directions. Enjoying this near-ideal loading is the newly-designed long throw C100D driver delivering clean precise bass and uncoloured transparent mids to a surprisingly high level. High frequencies are handled by the same tapered tube loaded high-performance D26 tweeter used throughout the entire Vivid range. KAYA S12 is moulded from composite material available in a range of standard and custom automotive finishes.

Like KAYA 25 the KAYA S12 is also a two-way system. Although it is the smallest Vivid Audio loudspeaker ever, the technique is as grand and derived from it’s bigger siblings. KAYA S12 is a genuine Vivid Audio loudspeaker in every respect. If size matters, KAYA S12 is the best candidate to deliver grand performance.
